The adaptive truss prototype was exhibited at the International Association of Shell and Spatial Structures conference in Amsterdam last month, where it stole the show!
Over 500 of the world’s top experts in lightweight structures attended the conference and Expo, including engineers, architects and academics. With live demonstrations of the adaptive truss running all day every day, it generated a huge amount of interest and we hope it has inspired others to try out this new design philosophy on their projects and research programmes (see our thinking piece to find out more).
The prototype is the culmination of Gennaro Senatore‘s engineering doctorate research, which has been a major collaboration between UCL and Expedition, with support from ICE, IStructE, EPSRC and the Useful Simple Trust.
