The installation of a series of sculptures for the Olympic Park in legacy mode continued today with the fourth sculpture in the series going into place.
The sculptures, designed by artists Ackroyd and Harvey and engineered by Expedition Engineering, are a series of 6m diameter rings, each suspended from a large tree planted at each entrance. The rings appear to float around the branches of the trees. The project has been a particularly exciting one for us engineers as it requires working with not merely natural materials but living ones!
We look forward to seeing the full 10 sculptures in place when the park opens to the public later this year.
