A House for Artists wins 2024 Civic Trust Award

Expedition is thrilled that A House for Artists, the multifaceted housing project in the heart of Barking, has won a Civic Trust Awards.
The 65th awards ceremony saw over 320 projects entered from across the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Lithuania, Malta, Poland and USA to celebrate the outstanding contributions to our communities through exceptional architecture, urban design, planning, public realm, and public art.
As a ‘shining example of innovative architecture and design’, A House for Artists has been recognised for its vibrant and inclusive environment for its residents and local community.
Expedition provided Structural and Civil Engineering design services for this ground-breaking scheme, assisting Apparata from the competition phase to RIBA Stage 4, to transcend the traditional notions of housing.
The project was also shortlisted for a Stirling Prize in 2023.
