Pea Soup House was a pop up installation created in 2016 to raise awareness of air pollution by communicating a normally invisible issue using soup and a coloured coded air quality index – green (1) being clean to red (10) being polluted. The temporary installation at the RIBA headquarters on Portland Place served a coloured soup depending on the air quality for the day.
Expedition teamed up with FCBStudios to provide structural and construction advice as well helping with the build. The installation used low cost, carbon neutral materials to create a high impact, transportable installation. It raised awareness of air pollution and brought together communities through food.
